Scientific and Medical Committee
LNE/G-MED is supported by a Scientific and Medical Committee set up when G-MED was launched in the mid-1990s. It is consulted on:
- the general principles on which medico-technical assessment standards are based
- the methods for assessment of specific categories of medical devices according to French regulations and European Directives.
The Committee meets two or three times a year. It is responsible for approving the appointment of LNE/G-MED experts who are consulted during assessment of:
- clinical data on medical devices
- the performance of in vitro diagnostic medical devices.
The Scientific and Medical Committee is made up of independent representatives of all parties concerned, in particular:
